Building Trust, Motivating Change
It can be challenging for a parent to open up a conversation with any youth about behavior issues, but it can be especially difficult for a parent of a youth who has experienced trauma. This course, developed for parents of teens, explores how they can use motivational interviewing techniques to help build trust with the youth in their home, engage them in conversation, and encourage behavior change.

This class explores how to engage teens in behavior change by using the techniques of motivational interviewing (MI), including:
