FosterParentCollege.com® Launches Updated Positive Parenting Series

November 8, 2011

Eugene, OR — The FosterParentCollege.com (FPC) popular three-part series on positive parenting has been fully updated and is live on the website.

The series features a new look, a new host, and video where formerly there were still images. The upgrades bring the series in line with the current look and functioning of FPC classes and take advantage of the latest technology. Sarada Thomas now hosts the classes. The course content is the same.

Positive Parenting 1 is about making effective requests, tracking problem behaviors, and encouragement.

Positive Parenting 2 covers setting limits and using behavior contracts.

Positive Parenting 3 covers time-outs, removing privileges and assigning extra chores.

While the courses are intended to be viewed in series they are also effective as stand-alone classes.

FosterParentCollege.com provides interactive online training for foster, adoptive and kinship parents. There are 31 courses available at this time. Titles include Substance-Exposed Infants, Child Abuse and Neglect, Grief and Loss in the Care System, Culturally Competent Parenting, and Child Safety and Supervision.

FosterParentCollege.com is:

  • Rated by the California Evidence-based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare
  • Endorsed by the NFPA, the Foster Family-based Treatment Association and the Canadian Foster Family Association
  • Approved by NASW, CASA and the National Adoption Center.
