In this final course in the series, host Sarada Thomas explains three traditional approaches to managing difficult behavior: time-outs, privilege removal, and extra chores. Since the course was developed, there have been advances in the field around parenting children who have experienced trauma. Some agencies no longer approve of these traditional parenting methods, because they are not trauma informed. Before taking the course, we suggest checking with your agency to learn whether it accepts the traditional methods covered or what needs to be modified to make your parenting practices trauma informed.

know how to be fair in removing privileges
know appropriate ways to allow the privilege to be regained
describe the potential pitfalls in assigning extra chores
know when to avoid one of these parenting techniques
